Next week Whaea Haylee and some students from Waipipi School are going to be coming to Mt Maunganui for their camp. They will be participating in a lot of fun activities as well as visiting our school. They come from a school that is MUCH smaller than ours, so this is a fantastic opportunity to show them our amazing facilities and tell them a bit about the awesome programmes we have running at Otumoetai Intermediate School.
You will be giving our guests a guided tour around the school.
Below, you need to comment on:
1. what you would show/tell them about our school
2. advise fun places they could go if they came back to Tauranga/Mt Maunganui again.

TERM 3 - RECAP
SO MUCH happened over Term 3, we had Yujin (an international student from Korea) join our class, GANGNAM STYLE! We had a class trip to the Hamilton Zoo, almost half our class competed at the NZ AIMS tournament and a few even performed in the Opening Ceremony. All of this was on top of our normal everyday learning programme so we were VERY busy!
Below are pictures and videos of Term 3 for Room 26:

We were learning about Animal Welfare, and were lucky enough to visit the Hamilton Zoo and attend a seminar run by one of the staff. This trip was also used as a motivator for our persuasive writing topic "Zoos - are they good or bad?"
Yujin - Our new korean student:
Yujin joined us for the last 4 weeks of Term 3. She performed Gangnam Style on stage in front of the whole school in Assembly! She was also a superstar for the night at our School Disco.

Just to give you an idea of how many grandparents attended, here is a 3D picture of the hall at morning tea time (and there were still some people waiting outside!) Click on the image below and use your mouse to move around the hall...
GRANDPARENTS DAY
What an AWESOME day we had on Friday! Hundreds of grandparents joined our classrooms at Otumoetai Intermediate School, participating in a wide range of learning activities both indoor and outdoors. Our class demonstrated how Freaky Friday Maths works in Rm26 and we began our Chees Tournament.
During Block 2, Grandparents were taken around our BEAUTIFUL school and got to see how TALENTED our students are. There were perfomances put on by our school Kapahaka group and our Arts Academy and all the technology classes were open for visitors. Here are some photos of our day:

Last Term we did a unit study on Communities and researched some community organisations. Below is a glog, with links to some of the published glogs from students in our class.
Glog of the Term!
Congratulations to Patricia and Bianca for making the Class Glog of the Term for Term 1! You used your time wisely and found information from a range of resources and have designed a glog that looks great, using space, graphics and font effectively!
