TECHNOLOGY (part 1)

Today I was lucky enough to get the time to visit students in their Tech classes.   The Tech classes we have here in Yr8 are Music, Art, Hard Tech, Food Tech, Dance & Drama, Science, and ICT.

This is the second session of their new Tech rotation, and they are already doing some pretty fun and interesting things, so I will definitely be visiting them next term to see what they have learnt.

Here is some video footage of what they have done so far: Can you guess what song they are playing?

Waterpolo

Every Tuesday for the last term the Otumoetai Intermediate B Waterpolo team have played against all the other B grade teams around Tauranga.  We came out of the first round unbeaten.  And the next week it was time for us to play Te Puke.  It was a very close game, but we came out with a win 4-3.  This meant that we had won the 2012 Term 1 B grade trophy!!

At Otumoetai Intermediate,  colours are awarded to acknowledge students for different achievements.  They are badges that students can stitch onto their jerseys, similar to a certificate... but better! :)

Rm26 HOMEWORK wk6

Over the past few weeks part of your mahi kainga has been to leave a comment on our class blog.  This week you need to leave a comment on a blog from another school.

Homework task:
  1. On the top right of the page there are some links to other classroom blogs.  Click on Room 8 @ Melville Int School.
  2. There are a number of posts on their page this year already about basketball, their recent talent quest, hard materials technology... You need to leave a comment on their class blog.
Your comment must include:
  • Something positive about what they have posted.
  • A question about that topic for them to answer.

You will need to write your name and in brackets put Rm26@OiS

e.g.  I think it is cool that you are already training for AIMS.  Our school competes at AIMS also.  How many teams do you send to the AIMS tournament? Mrs Bassett (Rm26@OiS)
